Constructed over a tight time frame of only 8 weeks, this project saw the complete revitilisation of one of the University of Newcastle’s poorest theatres into a new state-of-the-art theatre, complete with industry leading seating, audio and visual. A collaborative project that saw our team working with a number of designers and parties to ensure a high end product ready for the start of semester.
With all works completed in a period just under two months, on a 7 day working schedule that included extensive night works to achieve the deadline, this project is a key example of collaboration between all parties. Our works included demolition of existing services and finishes, full refurbishment of the existing theatres, new seating, new services such as audio visual, data and communications, and contemporary finishes throughout. All works were carried out in a live environment, adding to the complexity.
