Saint Francis Xavier Church – Belmont

Working closely with the architect and client from an early stage, we undertook the complete redevelopment of the existing church site to create the modern and reimagined version of the former building. Refurbishing segments of the existing church to form the new hall allows for a connection between the old and new, whilst allowing for a new life for this antiquated building. A prominent feature within the Lake Macquarie area, we are proud to have been able to bring the vision of the client to life.

Thanks to early contractor involvement, we were able to formulate an adaptive and collaboritve approach to the works. This included: - digitally reproducing the stained glass windows from the existing building. - an architectural designed roof and awning, which allows for an abundance of natural light. - adaptive reuse of the existing church structure to form the new hall. - intrinsically designed selections and finishes providing a striking visual end product whilst maximising unique finishes such as reproduced stone, composite flooring and the lightweight facade construction.
